The amendments implement the legislative changes that include a 30 percent reduction to the medical fee schedule effective Sept. 30, 2011. The changes also include a new reimbursement provision for medical implants as 20 percent above the net manufacturer's invoice price less rebates, plus actual and reasonable customary shipping prices. A new provision provides for the reimbursement of out-of-state medical services. The proposed amendment also includes accredited ambulatory surgical treatment facilities in the medical fee schedule and specifies the organizations providing accreditation. Comments should be emailed to kimberly.janas@illinois.gov by April 16. For a copy of the proposed amendments, visit www.iwcc.il.gov/FSproprules030212.pdf.
