Ohio: Bureau outlines rules for self-insuring employers
The Bureau of Workers' Compensation proposed amendments to rules setting out general procedures for the state insurance fund and self-insuring employers.
The amendments list criteria for the administrator of workers' compensation to consider in determining whether to grant a waiver of the requirement for financial statements reflecting the unreserved and undesignated year-end fund balance in the public employer's general fund. The rules also state that a public employer's coverage of a "work-relief employee" must be included in its self-insurance policy. The bureau accepted comments until April 20.
