Rhode Island: Division announces cost-of-living increase
The Division of Workers' Compensation issued an informational letter noting that a cost-of-living increase of 3.1 percent went into effect on May 10.
Weekly benefits paid to injured workers should increase by 3.1 percent. The increases are paid by insurers and employers without a court order. Late payments of the increase can result in the assessment of a 20 percent penalty on the unpaid amount.
