Illinois: Deadline on proposed preferred provider rule changes nears

The Department of Insurance proposed rules regarding the preferred provider programs.

Print Email Add to Facebook Add to Twitter Add to LinkedIn Write to the Editor Reprints

The rules define the authority of a workers' compensation preferred provider program administrator to operate the preferred provider program, establish criteria for those administrators, and establish fees for the registration and regulation of the programs. The rules provide the requirements for payor agreements between workers' compensation preferred provider program administrators and payors. Administrators are required to file a sample copy of all provider agreements. The rules also provide requirements for provider agreements between providers and insurers, employers, or administrators. Administrators and insurers are required to file a description of the services to be offered through the workers' compensation preferred provider program. Comments should be submitted to Joe Clennon or Susan Anders at 320 West Washington Street, Springfield, IL 62767 by June 11. For a copy of the proposed rules, visit www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/index/register/register_volume36_issue17.pdf.
