The Department of Labor and Industries proposed amendments to a rule regarding cylinders and acetylene under an expedited rulemaking process that eliminates the need for the department to hold public hearings. The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently adopted changes to the acetylene standard. The rule updates a reference to a compressed gas association standard in the existing acetylene standard. Those objecting to the expedited rulemaking process must express their objections in writing by June 19. For more information, visit www.lni.wa.gov/rules/AO12/10/1210CR105.pdf.

The Department of Labor and Industries proposed amendments to electrical rules. The division plans to amend the rules to match those adopted by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The rule is being proposed under an expedited rulemaking process that eliminates the need for the agency to hold public hearings. Those objecting to the expedited rulemaking process must express their objections in writing by July 3. For more information, visit www.lni.wa.gov/rules/AO12/11/1211CR105.pdf.
