Washington: DLI seeks to skip hearings on two rules, asks for objections
The Department of Labor and Industries proposed amendments to a rule regarding cylinders and acetylene under an expedited rulemaking process that eliminates the need for the department to hold public hearings. The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently adopted changes to the acetylene standard. The rule updates a reference to a compressed gas association standard in the existing acetylene standard. Those objecting to the expedited rulemaking process must express their objections in writing by June 19. For more information, visit www.lni.wa.gov/rules/AO12/10/1210CR105.pdf.
