The authors offer the following resources to help employers encourage safe driving among their employees:

  • Distraction.gov includes a sample policy that employers can download and customize. It also provides pledge forms for employees to sign and share with others.
  • The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (http://trafficsafety.org) provides an employer toolkit with steps to improve driving safety, sponsors a safe driving week, and offers tips to reduce driver distractions.
  • The National Safety Council (www.nsc.org) offers an employer traffic safety program to educate employers on the effects of crashes on their business. It also provides information and various policies to deter distracted driving, impaired driving, aggressive driving, and passenger restraint.
