I consider myself to be a very lucky journalist. In the almost six years that I have been with this magazine, I have had the opportunity to meet and interview hundreds of you that work to manage global business risk.
Almost without exception, I have found the professionals that work in this space to be gracious and generous with their thoughts and with their time.
In my time here, we have seen the financial meltdown of 2008 and natural catastrophes that struck Japan, Thailand and New Jersey with stunning force. It has also been a time when the dialogue about risk management has involved more stakeholders and become much more complex.
I look forward to many more conversations, as we here at Risk & Insurance®work to expand our understanding of this industry and the keen minds of those who work in it.
Please do remember that ours is a marketplace of ideas. We welcome yours when it comes to which aspects of the industry you think we should be covering, and which sources you feel our readers would best benefit from.
I couldn't have picked a better time to have become involved with this industry.
If there is a more civil and engaging galaxy of professionals, I have not heard of them or encountered them.
