NCCI names Katherine Antonello as chief actuary
Katherine Antonello has been named the new head actuary at NCCI.
The Florida-based ratemaking organization announced the appointment of Antonello to take over for the retiring Dennis Mealy.
Antonello has spent the last 12 years at Lumbermen's Underwriting Alliance, where she had oversight of all workers' comp activities in addition to her role as chief actuary. Previously, she was an actuary with Liberty National Life Insurance Company and Milliman & Robertson. In the late 1990s, she was an actuary with NCCI's Actuarial and Economic Services Division, the organization said.
In her new role, she will lead the division, which is "responsible for all actuarial and economic work, including rate/loss cost filings, legislative analyses, compilation and analysis of insurance industry results, residual market reserving, actuarial products, and producing topical industry research," according to a statement from NCCI.
