The Big 2's Outlooks

Boeing and Airbus dominate the airplane manufacturing business, but where will they be in 10, 20 years? See where they think they will be, as revealed in their market forecasts and outlooks.

Both are monster files, so be forewarned. But the Boeing Current Market Outlook 2007 preaches the growth of cleaner more efficient air travel. One interesting factoid that stands out in the report: By 2026, about 40 percent of all air traffic will be coming or going in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the Airbus Global Market Forecast, among other things, the European giant also touches upon this issue, estimating that one in five aircraft deliveries will be to developing markets through the next 20 years.
