MARY PAT KESSLER,
director of new business development for Brown & Brown Consulting, the employee benefits arm of the independent insurance broker, was elected to the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity Board of Directors. Kessler has more than 16 years of experience in the insurance industry. She previously worked for Aetna and Prudential Insurance Co. She has been involved with the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity for more than 14 years, and has also volunteered for the National MPS Society, Aid for Friends, Our Lady Help of Christians, Abington Girls Lacrosse Club, Chestnut Hill College and is a board member for Wyncote Academy. As a member of the YMCA's board, she joins other top business and civic leaders who form a prestigious group committed to serving the Y and its 52,000 members at 10 branch locations and 55 program sites throughout the Delaware Valley.
ANTHONY MORENO joined the national wholesaler Westrope as a casualty broker in the firm's West Region. In his new position, he will be responsible for developing excess-and-surplus casualty business. Moreno will bring to bear more than 10 years of commercial casualty underwriting experience.
Westrope also announced that it promoted BRAD MOSS to vice president of its property division, where he will still focus on growing property business for the wholesale brokerage firm, especially west of the Mississippi River. Prior to joining Westrope, Moss was an underwriter with Essex Insurance Co., a division of Markel.
BILL JEATRAN was named the latest and 52nd chairman of the board for Assurex Global, the worldwide network of independent brokers. Jeatran is the CEO of RJF Agencies, a Minneapolis-based risk management and employee benefits agency that specializes in service to middle-market clients in the Midwest. He succeeds Paul J. Hering of Barney & Barney LLC as chairman.
