WENDY BAKER,
president of Lloyd's America Inc., left her position at the end of December 2007, according to the organization and press reports. No replacement has been named yet as of this writing. Baker had been president of the American arm of the eminent London market since 1998. No reason as well has been named for her departure. Baker's profile could still be found on the Lloyd's Web site as of Jan. 2.
ERIC GESICK was named as group chief actuary for PartnerRe Ltd., the Bermuda-based reinsurer. As such, Gesick will oversee the firm's team of actuaries who manage its reserving process, capital allocation and modeling. Previously, Gesick had been the chief actuary in the financial, professional and international insurance division at Travelers. At PartnerRe, he replaces Costas Miranthis, who had been promoted to deputy CEO early in 2007.
