CHRISTINE NIGRO was named as president of AXA Advisors LLC, the broker/dealer arm of the retail distribution channel of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co. Before her promotion, Nigro had been chief operating officer for AXA Advisors, where she started in May 2006. Nigro will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the broker/dealer in her new position, including managing business development and operations, sales and marketing, and supervision and suitability, as well as watching over the processing of commissions for the more than 6,000 AXA Advisors professionals.
JEAN LAURIN was named president and CEO of The Schinnerer Group, the largest underwriting firm in the United States. Laurin will remain president of ENCON Group Inc., a managing general agent in Canada that offers, among other things, professional liability and construction insurance. LORNA M. PARSON will become president and chief underwriting officer for Victor O. Schinnerer & Co. Inc. Parson has been with the company since 1979, when she joined as an underwriting trainee.
Allianz SE named THOMAS C. WILSON as its chief risk officer. He started in his new role Jan. 1, 2008. He had been chief insurance risk officer at ING Group since 2005, prior to which he held various risk positions at other insurers and consultancies. He had been named as CRO of the Year by Life & Pensions in magazine in 2007.
