Calculating the Offshore Costs
Bermuda is well-known for its insurance industry infrastructure and its warm business climate, and our last survey of the domicile's captive managers backed up these trends. More surprising, however, are other trends that the captive managers revealed, such as concerns about costs and the increasing competition over talent.
Tap into the wealth of data and analysis from the first-ever Risk & Insurance® Bermuda survey, which gauged the opinions of 126 captive insurance owners about what they like, and don't like, about doing business in Bermuda.
They rate, for instance, the domicile's captive infrastructure, regulatory environment, management and support services, communication services, banking system and labor market, among other things.
The Risk & Insurance® Bermuda survey originally appeared in the Aug. 2006 Bermuda Captive Conference Tip-in. Besides gearing up attendees for the annual meeting and revealing the survey data, the tip-in also featured an article on the wonders of captive managers by David Fox, director of information services for the Bermuda Insurance Market.
While you're at it, feel welcome to take a peek at the 2005 Bermuda Captive ConferenceTip-in, which features an article on "Mr. Captive," Brian Hall.
