Commercial property insurer FM Global appointed JONATHAN W. HALL as senior vice president of underwriting and reinsurance at its Johnston, R.I.-based corporate headquarters. Hall served as senior vice president and manager of the company's Eastern (U.S.) division for the last decade. He succeeds Robert E. Bean, who retired after nearly 40 years of service with FM Global. Hall joined FM Global in 1980 as an account underwriter and has expertise in the forest products, chemical, pharmaceutical and power-generation industries.
FM Global also appointed MICHAEL R. TURNER as senior vice president and manager of its Eastern (U.S.) Division, succeeding Hall. Turner, who joined the company in 1982, most recently served as vice president and operations manager for FM Global's Boston operations based in Norwood, Mass.
RAY K. PHILLIPS will take over for Turner as vice president and operations manager of FM Global's Boston operations. Phillips, who joined FM Global in 1985, will oversee client service and property loss prevention services for clients in New England and Upstate New York. Previously, he was operations vice president and area manager for the Atlanta, Ga., office of Affiliated FM, a member of the FM Global Group.
Farmers Insurance Group Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services, appointed DENISE RUGGIERO as vice president, legislative and regulatory affairs. Ruggiero previously spent 20 years with State Farm Insurance Co., most recently as the managing attorney in Sacramento, Calif. A native of Texas, she holds a juris doctorate and a CPCU designation, and is also a CPA.
Zurich named DOMENICK DICICCO chief claim counsel for its North America Commercial division, responsible for managing claims legal operations in the international insurer's Schaumburg, Ill., and Baltimore offices. DiCicco joined Zurich in 2005 as vice president and head of global complex claims and litigation management. Prior to that, he was a partner in the law firm of Edelstein, Martin, Nelson and DiCicco, where he specialized in insurance cases.
New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, a Bordentown, N.J.-based company assisting agents and brokers with environmental and construction related professional liability insurance coverages, appointed SHARRON GASKINS to the position of account executive. Gaskins has more than 18 years of underwriting and customer-service experience in the insurance industry, most recently at ACE Insurance Co. as a senior reinsurance contracts analyst.
