Specialty Risk Services, a Hartford, Conn.-based property/casualty third-party administrator for workers' compensation and liability claims, named JAMES P. RYAN to the position of senior vice president of field operations, reporting to SRS president Joe Boures. Ryan will be responsible for the field organization of approximately 1,400 claims and medical professionals and provide oversight to SRS' claims intake, medical-bill review and medical network development services. Ryan joined SRS in 1998 and most recently served as regional vice president.

SRS also appointed MARK CASTELLANET as regional vice president of sales. In his new role, Castellanet will identify and implement strategies for new business development and broker relationship management in New England and the Midwest. Prior to joining SRS, he served as vice president of the outpatient services division of HealthSouth Corp., focusing on sales execution, sales training and staff development.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. announced expanded national specialty capabilities in its healthcare professional liability claims administration practice in the areas of investigations, risk management and auditing. Leading Sedgwick CMS's professional liability specialty resource teams are three seasoned colleagues who joined the organization in 2006 through its acquisition of Caronia Corporation and Octagon Risk Services: LISA A. SINDONI, manager of healthcare field investigations; MIRANDA L. FELDE, manager of healthcare risk services; and JAMES M. PAGE, manager of healthcare auditing and consulting services.
