Guy Carpenter & Co., the reinsurance arm of Marsh & McLennan Cos., made three appointments to its Executive Committee responsible for developing the firm's strategic plan, setting budgets, prioritizing investments and interacting with the leadership of MMC. NICK FRANKLAND, CEO of Guy Carpenter's European operations, is responsible for broking operations in Continental Europe and the United Kingdom. Frankland also chairs the International Board, which oversees the activities of the European and Asia Pacific Management Boards.
ANDREW MARCELL is the global head of business development for Guy Carpenter, as well as the CEO of Guy Carpenter's Continental European operations and leader of the firm's specialty operations throughout Europe. He also is a member of Guy Carpenter's International Board.
As the global leader of Guy Carpenter's Instrat unit, RYAN OGAARD oversees the firm's worldwide network of actuaries, CAT modelers, financial experts and software developers located throughout 14 countries. Ogaard is also a member of the Americas Board and Specialty Executive Committee.
Guy Carpenter also announced the opening of an office in Prague on March 1, to be led by LUBOS HOUSKA. He will be the Czech market representative for Guy Carpenter Central and Eastern Europe. Houska has been reinsurance manager at CPP, part of the Vienna Insurance Group, since 2003. Prior to that position, he was the reinsurance manager at Ceska Pojistovna and Allianz Pojistovna in Prague. The new office will be part of Guy Carpenter's Central and Eastern European broking operations.
