David F. Provost will succeed Leonard Crouse as deputy commissioner of Vermont's Captive Insurance Division when Crouse retires in June. Provost is an assistant chief examiner who joined the division in 2001. He has 18 years experience in the captive insurance industry, both in private and public roles. He previously worked for AIG Insurance Management Services, Sedgwick Management Services (US) Ltd., and Johnson and Higgins Services Inc. The Captive Insurance Division is housed in the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities & Health Care Administration. The deputy position oversees the Captive Insurance Division and is responsible for the administration and regulation of captive insurance companies and risk retention groups.
Mike Lusk was elected chair of the board of directors of the Captive Insurance Cos. Association during CICA's 36th International Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. Lusk is corporate vice president for insurance and global risk management at Decatur, Ill.-based Archer Daniels Midland Co. Lusk began his career by performing inspections and providing underwriting for high-hazard plants in chemical and petrochemical industries. Before joining ADM in 1999, Lusk worked for International Risk Management (Americas) Inc., a risk management consulting firm.
In addition to Lusk, the CICA Board of Directors elected Claude Parenteau as vice chair. He is president of Parenteau Associates of Easton, Conn. The board also elected Karin Landry as secretary-treasurer. She is a managing partner at Spring Consulting Group LLC of Boston.
