BEN ALLEN was named president and CEO of Kroll Inc., the risk consulting and technology group of Marsh & McLennan Cos. He will be responsible for helping global clients restructure their businesses to meet the demands of the current economy. Allen had been chief operating officer of Kroll in 2007 and president of Kroll Ontrack, its legal technologies and data recovery unit. He replaces Simon V. Freakley, who becomes CEO of the new MMC corporate advisory and restructuring unit.

At MMC's human resources consulting branch, Mercer LLC, JOCELYN PURTELL has been head of U.S. operations since April 1. She will be based out of Deerfield, Ill., and will focus on redeveloping the firm's operational processes and platforms. She comes by way of Hewitt Associates Inc. out of Lincolnshire, Ill., where she worked for 22 years.

Aon Consulting Worldwide announced the addition of LISA CALDWELL as chief operations officer for its U.S. division. In the new position, Caldwell will be responsible for overseeing major U.S. corporate initiatives and business operations. She has two decades of experience in the industry, last with BearingPoint, where she was executive vice president of commercial services.
