PETER BREITSTONE was named to become president and CEO of Agency Specialty Product Network Insurance Services Inc., a subsidiary of Aon. The appointment went into effect on April 22. Breitstone will be responsible for growing and developing the ASPN platform, which is a distribution system to the independent agency network. He comes to the role with more than 25 years of experience as an independent agent, having come to Aon in 2006 when the corporation bought his environmental risk and insurance brokering firm. He replaces Jerry Tegan, who is now ASPN chairman.
KEITH ANDERSON was announced as the newest chief financial officer for Willis' Global Specialties division. Anderson had been CFO of the U.K. specialty and U.K. retail divisions at Aon UK, and comes with 21 years of financial services experience.
Also joining the Willis Global Specialties division is NICK DUNLOP, who was appointed sales director. Dunlop most recently was the North American Sales Director for Global Markets North America and then London- and Bermuda-focused. He has been with Willis for 26 years and is also a member of the Non-Marine Executive of the London Market Insurance Brokers' Committee.
GILES WILKINSON has a new position with Willis Global Specialties as well: marketing director. He has been within the Willis organization since 1975, with more than 30 years specializing in aviation brokering. Wilkinson will also continue to serve as chairman of Aerospace Japan and as client advocate for Japanese aviation clients.
Willis Group Holdings also announced the appointment of JEFFREY B. LANE to its board of directors. Lane will also serve as a member on the Compensation Committee. Lane's more than 40 years in financial services includes his current stint as chairman and CEO of Bear Sterns Asset Management and past positions at Lehman Brothers, Travelers Group and Neuberger Berman Inc.
MICHAEL D. SMITH JR. returned to the Mt. Laurel, N.J., office of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co. to become sales executive. He will be responsible for new business development and relationship management in the property/casualty division, with a specialty in working with national life science and biotech firms. Smith had been with Commerce Insurance Services since 2001.
