James H. MacNaughton was elected to the position of director at Max Capital Group Ltd., filling a vacancy on its 11-member board of directors. MacNaughton recently retired from Rothschild Inc., where he served as a senior advisor. From 2001 to 2007, he was a managing director and global partner at Rothschild. Prior to that, MacNaughton held a variety of positions at Salomon Brothers, including managing director.

Arch Insurance Co. (Europe) Ltd. appointed James Weatherstone as president and CEO, replacing ROBERT VAN GIESON, who was appointed chairman. Weatherstone most recently served as chief underwriting officer. He joined Arch Europe in September 2005 as vice president of the executive assurance underwriting team. Before joining Arch, he worked at XL Capital Ltd.

Clemens Philippi will head up Aon Global's newly launched Asia Desk in London, which will support U.K. and European affiliates of Asian companies with their local risk requirements and advise U.K. companies with investment plans in Asia. The Asia Desk will combine the strengths of Aon's Japan Group UK, led by Philippi, with two dedicated desks for the rapidly growing markets in India and China, represented by Kavita Pandey and Fang Li, respectively. The Asia Desk also aims to create opportunities in the London market, including the placement of large or complex risks from Japan, India and China, such as major construction projects, offshore and onshore refinery risks, or earthquake cover.

Matthew Wilson was named CEO of Global Markets at Brit Insurance Holdings PLC, the U.K.-based international general insurance and reinsurance group. He steps into the role following Mike Sibthorpe's resignation. In addition, Kevin Huttly has been appointed underwriting director of global markets.

Integro hired two brokers for the firm's casualty practice in London. Andrew Park most recently worked at Lockton London. Jonathan Bines joins Integro from Jardine Lloyd Thompson, where he was responsible for the design and placement of risk transfer solutions for global casualty accounts.
