Dennis Fasking and Jin Zhang joined AIR Worldwide Corp.'s expanding Consulting and Client Services Group. The group assists companies seeking to incorporate catastrophe risk management best practices within activities such as ERM, capital and risk transfer, underwriting and pricing enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies. Fasking has been involved in the insurance industry in a variety of capacities for 38 years, working for State Farm Mutual Insurance Co., Allstate Insurance Co. and Sentry Insurance.Before joining AIR, Zhang worked as an associate actuary at Travelers Insurance, working on commercial property pricing, catastrophe and reinsurance strategy management, and predictive modeling.

John Stroughair was hired by Risk Management Solutions Inc. to head the RiskMarkets group of RMS Consulting.In this capacity, he will be responsible for all RMS capital markets activities, including risk analysis of catastrophe bonds for use by ratings agencies and investors, the Paradex initiative to provide parametric indices for risk transfer and an innovative new platform for managing insurance-linked security portfolios.Stroughair previously worked at Oliver Wyman & Co., where he was a managing director in the corporate risk practice, focusing on developing quantitative approaches to improve managerial decisions.

RMS also announced that Matthew Grant was appointed group executive of global client development at Risk Management Consulting. Grant joined RMS in 1996 and has held a variety of roles in the client development group, including senior vice president for the RMS international region. Since 2006, Grant has been the company's chief markets officer. Grant took over the role from Bill Keogh who, after 12 years, decided to leave RMS to pursue other opportunities.

ikaSystems, a provider of Web-based ERP technology for process automation and intelligence management, has made several strategic hires to support its rapid growth. William Wetmore is the company's vice president, relationship management. He has more than 20 years of experience, at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare/Atrius Health, Fidelity Human Resources Health and Welfare Plan Outsourcing, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Randall I. Morrison is vice president, portal sales. He most recently was a national sales executive with Connecture, selling portal sales automation solutions into the payer market. Laurence Gunsberg was named vice president, medical management sales. Before joining ikaSystems, Gunsberg was a national sales director for several large providers of medical management decision support systems, including Computer Science Corporation and Ingenix, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.

Steven Georgiadis, vice president, claims and enterprise sales, was previously a senior sales executive at TriZetto, responsible for selling the Facets enterprisewide core administration system to health plans with fewer than 500,000 members. Sandy Cummings is vice president, marketing. She most recently served as a vice president at Aria Marketing, a marketing and public relations agency focusing exclusively on the healthcare industry, where her clients included McKesson Health Solutions, Silverlink and Eclipsys.

CCC Information Services Inc. of Chicago and Mitchell International Inc. of San Diego have announced a merger-of-equals transaction valued at $1.4 billion. Githesh Ramamurthy, currently chairman and CEO of CCC, will become the CEO of the combined company, CCC-Mitchell Inc. Alex Sun, currently president and CEO of Mitchell, will serve as president of CCC-Mitchell. The new company will be a leading provider of information, workflow management systems and integrated software to insurance companies and collision repair facilities.
