DAVID FIEDLER was promoted to assistant vice president, IT infrastructure and services, at Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co., a regional property/casualty insurance group. Fiedler came to the company in 2003 with 25 years in IT, last with Kmart Corp. At Amerisure, Fiedler has worked to create and execute a strategy to migrate away from the legacy mainframe, reduce expenses and upgrade the Help Desk, all while maintaining service.

KAREN CLARK, president and CEO of Karen Clark & Co., was honored with an award certificate for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, which had been bestowed upon the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Clark received the recognition because of her significant contribution over many years to the work of the IPCC. Clark began her participation with the panel as co-author of the Second Assessment Report, published in 1995. Clark is also well-known in catastrophe modeling and insurance circles as the founder of AIR Worldwide Corp.

The geographical information system technology vendor ESRI named MARK MCCOY as its insurance industry solutions manager. McCoy comes with 20 years of industry experience, much of which was in the underwriting side of the business.

STEPHEN SENTZ joined the staff of the Hartford's Business Management Group as a technology consultant. Sentz has two decades' worth of experience working with insurance agencies in technology planning, system installation and upgrades, and training.
